Mx. Sim (Abhimanyu) – Chief Queer-tivity Officer

Mx. Sim (Abhimanyu) is a storyteller, disruptor, and unapologetic queer-tivity machine who’s spent over a decade in advertising rooms pitching queer narratives, only to watch them get ghosted harder than an Hinge date. After years of watching the industry play it safe, Abhimanyu decided it was time to build the space they always craved—one where South Asian queerness isn’t just a footnote, but the main plot.

That’s how the Bolly-Queer Collection was born—a love letter to the queer Desi experience, wrapped in the drama, romance, and campy chaos of Bollywood. Partnering with Currycature and designer Kaviya, Sim brought this vision to life, ensuring that every tee doesn’t just look good—it tells a story, starts a conversation, and makes desi aunties clutch their pearls at shaadis.

With a background in digital marketing, brand storytelling, and content creation, Abhimanyu has worked with major brands like Disney Star, NBA, and international film festivals, but this project? This is the big Bollywood dream sequence moment—except queerer, louder, and with better fashion choices.

When they’re not breaking heteronormative stereotypes one t-shirt at a time, you can find them rescuing kittens, building brands, or daydreaming about a Bollywood where Kajol actually ends up with Rani.

Kaviya is a visual artist and educator exploring the intersection of art, awareness and learning. They use art as a form of language to communicate intuitively with others, relying on imagery instead of words to spark inspiration and reflection. They reject the notion of art as a discipline separate from others. For them, to practice art is to explore their curiosity and discover the many ways in which art is embedded in all aspects of life.

As a self-taught illustrator, Kaviya mainly works with mixed-media digital artforms. Their creative portfolio ranges from designing album art, posters and storybooks to video animations.  Their current focus is on developing a body of work that investigates issues of gender identity and related topics such as consent.

In their most recent project, they provided illustrations for Boyish, an emerging monthly newsletter that examines conventional gender norms and roles associated with masculinity in India. Kaviya’s artwork can be found on their buy me a coffee page and instagram.
